Cost-optimized charging of your own vehicle fleet: SMA and coneva integrate…

Niestetal/Munich, June 17, 2024 – Charging your own and your employees’ vehicles in an environmentally friendly and cost-effective way: Companies with electric vehicle fleets can now draw on the decades of expertise of SMA Solar Technology AG (SMA) and the load management expertise of its subsidiary coneva. For the new solution, SMA is expanding its successful SMA Commercial eMobility Solution to include the coneva solutions for dynamic load management and the management and billing of charging processes. At Intersolar Europe 2024 in Munich from June 19 – 21, installers and customers can get to know all the components of the integrated charging solution at the SMA booth B3.210.

“With this offer, we are closing the gap between generation and consumption. A decisive step towards meeting the increasing demands of companies for sustainable and efficient mobility,” says Jochen Schneider, Managing Director of coneva. “coneva has already gained extensive experience in load management for vehicle fleets and is now combining this with SMA’s decades of expertise in energy solutions and electric charging. Together, we can offer customized solutions that meet the requirements of our customers.”

“The integration of dynamic load management and billing management from our subsidiary coneva with the SMA Commercial eMobility Solution will make it even more cost-effective for commercial enterprises to operate and manage electric vehicle fleets in the future,” explains Nikolaus Morbach, Executive Vice President Commercial & Industrial Solutions at SMA. “We also make it easier for specialist installers to set up the charging infrastructure with perfectly coordinated hardware components and a comprehensive integrated service package.”

Simultaneous use of charging stations for even more efficient energy use
coneva load management optimizes charging times and costs by intelligently distributing available energy and thus avoiding peak loads. This enables the simultaneous and efficient use of several charging stations with the integration of photovoltaic and battery systems without jeopardizing grid stability. Vehicles can thus be optimally charged and their maximum availability ensured. The dynamic electricity tariff coneva Flex for battery storage and charging stations creates additional benefits by drawing low-cost electricity from the grid.

Additional SMA eMobility Portal as CPO backend
In addition to the new solution for companies with electric vehicle fleets, SMA offers the SMA eMobility Portal powered by ROAD B.V. as a CPO backend. This provides a full-service solution for eMobility customers that enables simple management and monitoring of the charging infrastructure. This portal supports companies in efficiently managing access to charging stations, providing public charging in accordance with AFIR guidelines and ensuring the high availability of chargers.
