Samsam: Has the Cosy heat pump been keeping your house warm?
Nemesio: Yes, it has! The house stays lovely and warm, and we’re really happy with how it’s working.

Samsam: How is it using the heat pump day to day?
Nemesio: It’s very easy to use, especially with the app. Through my mobile, I can control the room temperature, adjust the water temperature, and even track our energy bills. It’s convenient to have everything in one place.

Samsam: Have you noticed any savings on your energy bills?
Nemesio: It’s still early days, but coming into winter we’re already seeing a potential saving of £20 to £30 per month compared to our old boiler. I think we’ll save even more in the summer.

Samsam: What’s your favorite thing about the Cosy heat pump so far?
Nemesio: It’s much simpler than our old system, and we only have one bill to think about now! We used to have a gas boiler with a separate water pressure machine, which was bulky and complicated. Now, everything is electric and streamlined—no extra machines or complexity.

Samsam: How was the installation process?
Nemesio: The installation was seamless. The engineers were incredibly kind, polite, and professional. They even planted a plant in our garden on their last day! We decided to place the heat pump in the garage, and they made everything look neat and tidy. You can’t see any pipes or wires—it’s just so well done.

Samsam: Are you keeping cosy and warm at home?
Chris: Yes, and I can do that cheaper with the awesome Agile tariff, which helps me heat my hot water and home at the cheapest rate each day.

Samsam: Would you say it’s easy to use day-to-day?
Chris: Absolutely! I use the Octopus app daily to check the rates of the Agile tariff. This lets me charge my storage battery and heat my water to the max when it’s really cheap, or even get paid to do so. The same goes for heating the house.

Samsam: Have you noticed any savings on your energy bills since installing it?
Chris: It’s a bit early to say, but it’s definitely looking promising. My first full monthly bill, using only electricity, came to £170.95 for four weeks of running my home, heating it, providing hot water, charging my EV, and charging my storage battery through the winter months. That works out to £43.75 a week for all of that! When spring and summer come, it’ll be even cheaper since I have solar panels and a solar diverter for the hot water tank, meaning less work for the heat pump.

Samsam: How would you rate the installation and service you’ve received from Octopus?
Chris: Overall, great. The engineers were fantastic, clean, and very knowledgeable. The survey felt quick, and I had a few follow-up questions for the team over email, but it all got sorted in the end. I know to expect great customer service with Octopus.

Samsam: How does it compare to your previous heating system?
Chris: I replaced a 14-year-old combi boiler that kept failing, and it was the perfect time to upgrade. The radiators don’t get as hot as with a combi boiler, but the room still warms up, almost like magic!

Samsam: Would you recommend the heat pump to friends or family?
Chris: Yes, absolutely. We need to move away from burning fossil fuels due to the damage they cause. In the future, we’ll look back at this phase of destroying out planet and realise how crazy it was. It’s time to make a change, and the heat pump is a step in the right direction.

Samsam: What inspired you to get a heat pump?
Eleri: Environmental concerns were a big factor for us, along with the hope for long-term savings. We wanted to do our part to reduce our carbon footprint.

Samsam: Has the heat pump kept you warm?
Eleri: Absolutely! It keeps the house lovely and warm throughout the day. We usually set it at 20 degrees during the day and sometimes increase it to 23 degrees in the evening when it’s chilly. Overnight, we return it to 20 degrees. The heat pump maintains a consistent temperature beautifully.

Luis: Absolutely! It’s been working very well. It keeps the house at a nice, even temperature, much better than our old boiler system.
